Almost Home Chicago provides practical assistance to neighbors facing real hardship. Every request is different, and available funds and resources change, so assistance is reviewed case by case.

Overdose-prevention supplies, transportation to treatment or sober living, and other practical support when possible.
Before you apply
WHAT TO EXPECT
- We may ask for identification, a current bill, or other documents related to your request.
- Documentation should be provided promptly so we can review the request without unnecessary delay.
- Assistance is not guaranteed. Each request is reviewed individually and depends on eligibility, available resources, and the circumstances involved.
- Almost Home does not provide cash directly. When assistance is approved, payment is generally made to the landlord, utility company, vendor, or other provider.

Current service area
Burbank, Chicago Ridge, Evergreen Park, Hometown, and Oak Lawn.
Neighbors experiencing homelessness may be considered regardless of their current location.

A FEW IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW
Not a shelter
Almost Home is not a shelter and does not locate apartments or provide permanent housing. We will share available housing resources with you.
Some expenses are excluded
We do not provide assistance for cable or satellite television, graduation fees, sporting fees, income taxes, or tuition.
Availability changes
Current assistance availability can change as funds and resources are used. The application page should always show the most current information.
