Rent & eviction
Help that may prevent an eviction or keep a household stable.
Housing & emergency help
When a rent problem, shutoff notice, car repair or unexpected expense threatens a neighbor’s stability, we look at the need in front of us and determine whether Almost Home can help.

What can go wrong fast
No two requests are identical, but these are some of the practical problems that can quickly threaten a household’s stability.
Help that may prevent an eviction or keep a household stable.
Shutoff notices and urgent utility costs that can quickly become a crisis.
Gas, bus fare, Uber support or a critical vehicle repair tied to an essential need.
Short hotel stays, moving, storage or another immediate need while a family gets through a crisis.
What Almost Home has helped with
Provided during the January 2026–July 2026 reporting period.
Housing-stability assistance during the same reporting period.
Recent help has included utility needs and phone bills when staying connected mattered for work or safety.
Practical help has also included gas for a job interview, storage protection and a bicycle repair when transportation was essential.
How decisions are made
Available funds, urgency, supporting documentation and the circumstances of the household are considered. Assistance is never guaranteed.
Almost Home does not hand out cash. When assistance is approved, payment is made directly to the landlord, utility company, vendor or other provider.
Neighbors experiencing homelessness may be considered regardless of current location.
