Some Bunny Loves You
I promised Sarah I’d take a lot of pictures, Joi helped me out since I forgot to take pictures of the food.
Our volunteer group tonight was from Cognitive Clinic in Hickory Hills. They ordered from Sal’s, and the Philly Chicken and Philly Steak sandwiches looked and smelled delicious.
They brought all the fruit danishes and we also had about 50 individual pies donated from my friend’s Speedway store.
We had 9 friends need hotel rooms and we put them up for the night.
And in comes Best Western at 82nd and Cicero. We called ahead since they have been running out of rooms before we arrive and they held what was available, 6 rooms. We arrived to room keys ready and our friends got up to their beds in minutes!! They are wonderful there.
We gave out $200 in gas gift cards to our friends who’s cars serve as their shelter.
$40 in Beggars pending meal vouchers
$40 in Dunkin gift cards
And filled bags of essentials and food from our pantry for 9 friends.
Joi, Patty, and I all agree it was a really smooth night, and everyone left with full bellies.
We are so glad Sarah got a weekend away, she was missed in person, but all her notes around the kitchen for us, made her feel very much present.
