Almost Home’s Stone Soup Kitchen fed 28 bellies tonight!!
Almost Home’s Stone Soup Kitchen fed 28 bellies tonight!!
And it was the first time for 5 of our friends.
The most memorable moment of the night for me was after dinner service. Ronel’s message of faith began with singing Silent Night and playing an acoustic guitar. The room was still kind of booming with conversation until everyone heard “…hooooly night.”
And all was calm, indeed.
One of our guests closed his eyes and put his head in his hands. And he remained sitting with his eyes closed for the entire song.
It was really something special.
As far as the food goes, everyone left happy and full!! And our volunteers for tonight, a long time AH supporter, Kelly and her family were AMAZING!!
Her son Colin helped me run my hot coco stand, his first time putting whipped cream on a drink. He was a pro after making just one!
And I just have to brag, my hot coco stand was a hit! I offered mini marshmallows, whipped cream, chocolate syrup and chocolate wafer straws. Offering something to an adult that makes them smile with childlike joy, is a gift to the giver. I even wrote love notes on the cups.
Oh and our generous volunteers also made up some blessings bags for all our guests. Couldn’t of asked for a better evening, better food, or better people.
Consider joining us next weekend, it’s Christmas and we’ll be open. Stone Soup Kitchen will be open for dinner service on Saturdays through confirmed February dates.
Ps. We’re missing some photos of volunteers, we forgot to take a picture in the beginning of service and some had already left. ooops.
Many blessings,
Mel
