Gratitude.

If there is anything I am feeling a lot of, it’s that.

Stone Soup Kitchen dinner services allow our friends access to the pantry each week after SSK.

I showed up today to help, but there were at least 15 volunteers downstairs from Alive Church here today, so I spent my time organizing and going through all the amazing donations received today.

When I showed up today, there were 4 boxes of caprisuns, now we are stocked! And look at all the fruit cups and tuna kits, both go sooooo quickly from the pantry because they’re easy to carry and don’t need to be cooked.

Look at that pile of goods for our NEW Loaves & Fishes closet. Joi, Sarah and I were saying we think we have enough to go get it set up and stocked!! Can’t wait to love on more friends in recovery and make sure they don’t go without essentials.

Boy Scouts came through with TONS of groceries of much needed items. I was actually speechless when I saw how much was collected. Mel is NEVER speechless.

Some lovely volunteers came with pre-made hygiene bags which were a HIT! They hand delivered them to our guests downstairs and we put the rest in our Loaves & Fishes closet for those who may need next week.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Though words never seem like enough.

We could not serve the community without our supporters, donors, and volunteers.

Love and GRATITUDE,

Mel

Ps. For the record, I think I got all my exercise in for the week today.

Pss. Sarah will make an official SSK post tomorrow! She’s at the hotel getting some of our friends checked in for the night.

Psss. It’s our Donna’s Birthday today.

Pssss. One of our friends who doesn’t tend to see the world through the lens of positivity. Life is rough to him. But he and I laughed today, and he told me a few jokes and even asked me for something! I’ve been trying to win him over a little bit more each weekend. We’re best friends now.
