Stone Soup Kitchen

It takes a gang of amazing humans to accomplish what we have done here at Almost Home.

I don’t know if honor describes best, how I feel about the women I serve along side…

But I am truly honored to serve my community along side Sarah, Patty, Donna.

Anne, people raved about your cornbread! It was a hit!!

Cathy O’Hara, our guests felt so special to get to choose from such fancy desserts. We were in awe of all the baked goods you left with us to share! We set out a snack table for people to take a couple home with them. Thank you for thinking of us!

And our generous soup lady Maureen, she’s made us soup two weekends in a row!!

And Barb, our two time volunteer who is running our check-in table perfectly!

We filled 19 bellies tonight, and sent 5 Chilis with the fixings, 5 Soups, and 5 Mac and cheese, 10 cornbreads, and lots of desserts with our friend Tim. He came for dinner tonight and is taking food to some of our guys who couldn’t make it to the kitchen tonight.

We did have different friends this week than last, so we know word is getting out.

If you could share our flyer on any groups you belong to, so that folks know this resource is available. The closest soup kitchen we know in operation is 15 miles away from Oak Lawn.

Open each Saturday until December 25th 4:30 - 8pm.

Sincerely, Mel
